Online community rules and legal duties
Thank you for joining the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) online community.
This community should be a welcoming, respectful and supportive space where everyone can take part.
To ensure the best possible experience for all users, we’ve set some basic community rules. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with these guidelines, tick to say you’ve understood them, then let’s get started.
The Rules

Be mindful of the community’s purpose. Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions and goals. Stay on topic.

Use caution when discussing products. If you’ve found a product or service helpful, share your experience with the group in a responsible way. We don’t permit direct promotion or criticism of products, services and organisations.
We will remove any posts that don’t adhere to the rules above. We will remove anything defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive or illegal.
IOSH, at its full and final discretion, will delete posts deemed to be subjective, inaccurate or inappropriate.
To preserve an environment that encourages respectful and responsible dialogue, IOSH reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership of this community for anyone who violates these rules. Inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour in this online community may be referred for investigation under the relevant IOSH moderation or disciplinary code.

This online community is provided as a service by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). IOSH is not responsible for the opinions and information posted by users on this community. We disclaim all warranties regarding information posted on this site, whether posted by IOSH or any third party; this disclaimer includes all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness. In no event shall IOSH be liable for any special, indirect, or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data, or profits, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of any information posted on this site.
By posting material, you warrant and represent that you own the copyright with respect to such material or have received permission from the copyright owner. In addition, all users grant IOSH and other users of this site the non-exclusive right and licence to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print and use such information or other material.
Don’t post messages that encourage or facilitate other users to arrive at any agreement that either expressly or by implication leads to price fixing, a boycott of another’s business, or other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade. Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate and may be removed: prices, discounts or terms or conditions of sale; salaries; profits, profit margins or cost data; market shares, sales territories or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection or termination of customers or suppliers.
IOSH does not actively moderate postings and does not on its own undertake editorial control of postings. However, if any inappropriate posting is brought to the attention of IOSH, we will take appropriate action. If any user or party believes that any post breaches the rule, IOSH will follow the defined moderation process which may result in a request to remove material.
IOSH reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to this online community to any user who does not abide by these rules and guidelines.
